YardPaint is made by Laratta Labs LLC (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what we collect, why, and who we share it with. We keep it short and specific.
What we collect
Your account
You sign in with Apple. We receive a unique identifier from Apple — we don’t request your name or email. We use this to keep your account and your projects, and to apply your free-preview allowance fairly across devices.
Photos you provide
The yard photos you capture or choose are used to generate your previews. Before a photo is used, it's checked on your device (photos containing people are blocked) and by automated content moderation. To create a preview, your photo is sent securely to our image-generation provider (OpenAI). We do not keep your original photo — it's processed in memory and discarded; only the generated preview is stored in our cloud storage (Cloudflare R2), linked to your account, until you delete it or your account. We do not sell your photos and we do not use them to train AI models.
Plant suggestions
To choose plants for you, we send the zones you painted and your general climate (USDA hardiness zone) to our text-AI provider (OpenAI). This step does not require your photo.
Subscriptions
Purchases are handled by Apple. We receive transaction identifiers and subscription status so we can unlock features — we never see your card or payment details.
Usage analytics
We record first-party, privacy-respecting events (for example, “app opened” or “preview generated”) tied to your account so we can understand and improve the app. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.
Logs
We log technical metadata such as request identifiers and timestamps to operate and debug the service. We do not log your photos or the contents of your previews.
Who we share data with
We use a small set of service providers, each only for what's needed to run YardPaint:
- Apple — sign-in and subscription billing.
- OpenAI — generates the preview image from your photo and selects plants from your zones and climate.
- Cloudflare — hosting, storage, and compute.
We do not sell your personal information.
Retention & deletion
We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete everything at any time in the app (Settings → Delete Account), which permanently removes your account, photos, and previews; residual copies in backups are purged within 30 days. See how to delete your data.
Your choices
You can access or delete your data from within the app. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct, or delete personal information — email us and we'll help. YardPaint is offered in the United States and Canada; Canadian users have rights under PIPEDA, and we'll honor verified requests.
Children
YardPaint isn't directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, note it in the app.
